History of club
This organization, originally called Cleopatra’s Daughters, began in 1992, founded by 10 women in hope of bringing the small percent of minorities then to have a club just for them. The club was originally supposed to transform into a black sorority, however due to some complications the dream of having a black sorority was crushed. Bound by friendship, unity, and commitment the founders proceeded to build an organization founded on the principles of unity, love, and sisterhood. The club since 1992, has had its ups and downs like any other club, but we’ve managed to survive. The club went from 7 dedicated members to 12 members, down to 4 up to 20, down to maybe 10, and now stands at 15. The club’s majority of the club is made up of freshmen and sophomores who would like to see the club grow more. We recently changed the name because we thought it was more modern, and since this club is built around sisterhood, why not call it Cleopatra’s Sisters.
