The College Preview Day Program started in 2004 by Washington College and Kent County High School to provide a support system for historically underrepresented populations attending the Kent County High School. The program was recognized by the Maryland State Department of Education receiving the Nancy S. Grasmick Excellence for Minority Achievement Award in 2005.
Each spring, a group of juniors are selected from Kent County High School to visit Washington College for a full day of activities. Students get the opportunity to attend classes, to interact with current college students, faculty, staff, and administrators. The students then return in the fall as seniors to participate in mock interviews for college admissions, personal statement writing, and overview of financial aid for parents and students.
